Paradise Island
is just a 55-minute airplane ride from South Florida, and just across
a bridge from Nassau, New Providence, capital of the Commonwealth of The
Bahamas.
All U.S. citizens must have proof of citizenship in the form of a US Passport
or birth certificate with photo ID. Citizens of other countries must have
a valid passport and either a U.S. Visa or a registered alien card (green
card).
The predominant language of The Bahamas is English, and the Bahamian dollar
(B$) is exchanged evenly with the American dollar. Electricity in The
Bahamas is provided at standard North American current of 120 volt/60
cycle AC.
Shopping in The Bahamas includes local goods such as straw hats, baskets,
bags and fabric. Best duty free, imported buys include French perfumes,
